I’m Amy Mazur, a licensed clinical social worker and couples therapist with over a decade of clinical experience. My private practice is in DUMBO, Brooklyn, and I see couples and individuals both in person and virtually.
I work primarily with couples — specifically, with couples who are stuck. People who are good at most things in life but have hit a wall in the relationship that matters most to them. People who’ve tried to figure it out themselves, sometimes for years, and are ready for someone to step in and pull them out of their patterns.
My Approach: Relational Life Therapy
My work is rooted in Relational Life Therapy (RLT), the framework developed by Terry Real. I am currently pursuing RLT certification through the Relational Life Institute. RLT is direct, skill-based, and built on the premise that lasting change in a relationship requires more than insight — it requires teaching couples how to be different with each other in real time.
In practice, that means our work together is active. I name what’s happening between you. I explain why it keeps happening. And I teach you the specific skills to interrupt those patterns. RLT does not let couples spin in the same loop indefinitely. It’s not vague. It’s the work that actually changes things.
Who I Work With
I specialize in high-functioning couples — partners who excel in their careers, parenting, and friendships but can’t seem to stop hurting each other at home. I also work with individuals who are ready to stop repeating the same patterns in their relationships, whether or not they’re currently partnered.
My couples intensives — focused weekend formats designed for couples in crisis or facing a major decision — are the work I’m best known for.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I’m a native New Yorker and a mother of two grown children. New York has always been home. I came to this work through a long fascination with how people connect, miss each other, and find their way back. Continuing education is a top priority for me, and I bring the most current evidence-based interventions to my practice.

I'm an out-of-network provider. Check with your insurance company about reimbursement for mental health. I’m happy to provide you with a superbill.
